KHS Juniors Honored by Hardin County Optimist Club

Three Kenton High School Juniors have won the Hardin County Optimist Club’s International Essay Contest.  The winners are: 1st place – Elijah Manns; 2nd place – Haley Hunt; and 3rd place – Kasaundra Collins.  The essay contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. This year’s essay topic was: “Can Society Function without Respect?”  At an upcoming luncheon at the Kenton Elks 157 Lodge, the Club will give cash awards for the essay contest winners. As the first place winner, Elijah Manns’ essay will next advance to the district contest to compete for a scholarship award.
